Weekend Update 09/01

The complete list of projects can be found >>here<<. More/new projects will be added as they pop up.

The Night Palace

Progress report: Wrote 400 words in story and outlined further into the climax. I’ve gotten my characters into a wonderful mess and I overestimated the power of my existing conclusion to get them out of it.

Current word count: 6,872

Short term goals: Research methods for killing or banishing demons and evil spirits in Middle Eastern mythology/folklore.

Long term goals: Complete story. Edit and cut to under 10,000 words, and submit for publication.

The Chronicles

Progress report: Nothing transcribed from current draft, but Matt and I spent an evening working out a functional history for the story’s universe. Session was recorded so I can revisit it.

Short term goals: Transcribe current draft from spiral notebook before all my writing becomes illegible.

(Very) Long term goals: Complete a draft.

Random poetry news: 3 were edited and sent out this week. The magazine I submitted to has a 2-6 week wait period until I hear back about them. Meanwhile, I’m looking into more publications if this one rejects me and editing two other poems for eventual submission to another pub.

Flash fiction: I found a place that publishes flash fiction and pays per story. Currently expanding Business Transactions into an actual story instead of a potential-story-idea-wordy-thing. Hope to finish it this week.

About Morgan Maria D'Isidoro

Morgan Maria D'Isidoro has lived in Baltimore, MD for most of her life, saving a handful of failed escape attempts. Given the murder rates, she'll probably die here too. Morgan is a writer of speculative fiction and poetry, a musician of dubious quality, cat aficionado, art history fangirl, kitchen sorceress, recovering pyromaniac, accomplished liar, and an all around person of questionable employability.
