Clarion Write-a-thon

Guys. Guys. I’ve been doing a thing. It’s sort of cool and awesome and I’d like your help if you’re able. I’m participating in this year’s Clarion Write-a-thon. If you haven’t heard of Clarion, let me tell a wee bit about it. Every year, the Clarion Writer’s Workshop offers this amazing program that writers can apply for. If they get in, they get to work with some of the best and most talented writers/editors/etc in the business. However, as you might imagine, some people *read as: many people* can’t afford to take several weeks off work or school and travel to California to take advantage of this opportunity. This is where the Clarion Foundation and the Write-a-thon (which is what I’m doing) come in. Hundreds of writers, aspiring and established, set writing goals for themselves to meet for the duration of the writers workshop, and while they’re doing this, their friends, family, and anyone else who cares can donate money to Clarion in support of that writer. Not only is this a great little morale boost for insecure dorks like me who otherwise stare at our word processors and scream “BE WORDS ALREADY, DARN YOU!”, the money you give helps make sure that the writers workshop can continue AND it goes to scholarships so that writers in the workshop can afford to work with some of the greatest minds of our age, despite any financial hardships they may be facing.

The link to the Clarion Foundation’s website is HERE and you can read more about what it’s for and what it does. Check out the writers – a lot of us have excerpts of what we’re working on up there – and if you have a few spare bucks, think about sponsoring someone. If you’d like to sponsor ME, I’m on the list of participating writers under my real name, so give me a shout out here or on Twitter. If you don’t want to sponsor anyone at all, there’s a button to just donate on the front page.

About Morgan Maria D'Isidoro

Morgan Maria D'Isidoro has lived in Baltimore, MD for most of her life, saving a handful of failed escape attempts. Given the murder rates, she'll probably die here too. Morgan is a writer of speculative fiction and poetry, a musician of dubious quality, cat aficionado, art history fangirl, kitchen sorceress, recovering pyromaniac, accomplished liar, and an all around person of questionable employability.
